Must I unroot before Flashing?? Usually, apps and data are not wiped while installing a firmware but you must create a backup before proceeding. Also, a data factory reset every time you install a new firmware is recommended for good performance.

Alternatively, you can install a firmware meant for another country to enjoy the new features. You can later install the original firmware when it arrives and resume getting the updates.
